Safety and Environmental Specialist
The Safety and Environmental Specialist will be a member of the Management Team under general supervision of the Executive Director and will be responsible for all activities related to CCWA’s safety and environmental programs, including coordination with Federal, State and local level regulatory agencies.
Our ideal candidate must have at least five (5) years’ experience in a safety related field and possess an Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Profession certification. They will also need to be familiar with the environmental standards and requirements involved in reporting to US and California Fish and Wildlife and other regulatory agencies, as they will be CCWA’s resident Environmental Technician. Experience in the public sector is desirable but not required. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: Ability to act as CCWA’s safety officer, including conducting safety meetings and maintenance of required Cal OSHA documentation, understanding and ability to supervise use of hazardous materials, oversight of outside contractors in areas that involve and hazardous materials or other environmental or safety related work, and general office practices and procedures.
